For all my time on the water, I’ve never been in a kayak.
It seems like a no-brainer and no big deal, but somewhere in my past “kayak” became synonomous with “tipping” and “drowning.” I fear drowning more than everything else. It seems silly. So I wanted to set it straight for myself. Day three’s mission was set.

What is the purpose of fear? Well, it’s simply an instinctual survival tactic. Fear is the body’s way of saying “you aren’t going to do so hot, nor be around for too long if you don’t change something.” So how appropriate that death is one of the two things that most every human fears.
